Hypnotic Childbirth Assistance Print Hypnotic Childbirth Brochure Front & Inside Pregnancy should be a time of preparation, relaxation and looking forward to the birth of your child, but it is sometimes a time of worry and anxiety. The good intentions of friends and family can create fears and doubts about what to expect during pregnancy, labor and delivery. HYPNOSIS CAN HELP!
(Fees) (Request Appointment/Information) Hypnotic childbirth assistance, sometimes call hypno birthing, is based on the concept that utilizing hypnosis can reduce or completely eliminate the perception of pain associated with labor. It teaches the laboring mother to relax her body fully and thus release fear and resistance to the natural process of birth. The deeply relaxed state that is achieved during labor helps accelerate the birthing process and create a natural and positive birthing experience. In investigations of what types of pain hypnosis is effective and which types are not, most seem to indicate that hypnosis is universally successful in pain management. Hypnosis has been shown effective in management of many varied types of pain, including pain associated with childbirth (Weishaar, 1986), angioplasty (Weinstein & Au, 1991), leukemia (Silva, 1990), and even headaches (VanDyck, et al, 1991). "Birth is a mind-body experience, an intense physical process whose outcome is closely tied to emotions and mental attitude." 'The Birth Book' by William Sears MD and Martha Sears RN Fear and Expectation When learning about how the mind controls the body, the expectant mother is taught to surround herself with only positive people and messages, to create a positive view of childbirth and the expectation that her labor will be the beautiful, peaceful experience that she wants. Fear in labor can create tension, which creates pain, then more fear, and the cycle continues. Fear and anxiety can also create adrenaline production in the body, causing the labor to become dysfunctional, a common reason for cesarean section. Freedom from fear can make a huge difference in the birthing experience. "Prolonged and unresolved fear will interfere with how your body functions during birth." 'The Birth Book' by William Sears MD and Martha Sears RN Why Choose Brenda? (About Brenda) In addition to my hypnosis certification, I was a certified Doula with DONA for about four years. I attended more than 30 births, some of which included childbirth hypnosis. My participation in a wide variety of birthing experiences has given me the insight into what works. I have seen this method of childbirth work and have the practical experience in the birthing process to assist you in having the birth experience you desire and deserve.
